Sanwo-Olu has unveiled five flyovers for the Lagos Red Line rail project.
Glamtush reports that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated five flyover bridges as part of the Red Line Rail project.
This online news platform understands that the newly built flyovers include Oyingbo, Yaba, Ikeja, Agege Pen Cinema, and Mushin, which was inaugurated on Saturday.
According to a post by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Jubril Gawat, on Sunday, the five flyovers are key components of the Red Line Rail project, aimed at reducing train and vehicular interactions.
The flyovers will also alleviate gridlock on the routes and intersections where they are located.
He wrote, “Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu has built and commissioned five flyover bridges (including the iconic Agege Pen Cinema Flyover). The Mushin Flyover which was commissioned yesterday is the final flyover the state government promised to build for this project.
“These vehicular overpasses (flyovers) are major components of the Red Line Rail Project.
“These flyovers will reduce the amount of train and vehicular Interaction when the commercial operations of the Red Line Rail starts.
“The flyovers also double as permanent solutions to the gridlock on the routes and intersections they are located in.”
The Red Line Rail project, launched on April 15, 2021, is expected to carry 500,000 passengers daily, connecting Ebute Metta (Oyingbo) to Agbado, passing through Yaba, Mushin, Oshodi, Agege, Ikeja, Iju, and Agbado.
