Rotimi Amaechi shunned the Tinubu campaign in Rivers State.
Glamtush reports that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, have arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, in continuation of their campaign for the presidency.
This online news platform understands that Tinubu and Shettima arrived at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium for the party’s presidential rally around 4 pm.
However, the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was conspicuously absent from the event.
Amaechi was the runner-up in the APC presidential primary election in June 2022, distantly trailing behind Tinubu, who emerged winner of the party’s presidential ticket.
Tinubu had campaigned in the state before retiring to meet Wike at the Government House.
Wike, a member of the G5 of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has not been on good terms with his party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.
Meanwhile, Glamtushreports that the former governors of Ekiti and Edo states, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Adams Oshiomhole respectively, with the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, arrived in Port Harcourt for the presidential rally earlier.
