Qatar 2022: Lineker Slams FIFA For Allowing Messi Wear Bisht During World Cup Presentation

Lineker has slammed FIFA for allowing Messi to wear Bisht during the World Cup presentation.

Glamtush reports that former Barcelona star, Gary Lineker has questioned FIFA’s decision to allow Lionel Messi to wear ‘a little robe’ during the trophy presentation after Argentina won the World Cup on Sunday.

This online platform recalls that the 2022 World Cup final match ended 2-2 at full-time and 3-3 at extra-time and was decided on a penalty shootout which Argentina edged 4-2.

Messi was allowed to wear a traditional Qatari Bisht much to the annoyance of Lineker.

“This is a magic moment. It’s a shame in a way they’ve covered up Messi in his Argentina shirt,” Lineker said on BBC.

Former Argentina international and studio guest Pablo Zabaleta agreed, adding: “It’s just why? No reason to.”

Messi then took off the bisht as he left the podium and Lineker added: “He’s taken his little robe off now.”
