Prince’s 1984 Oscar-winning film Purple Rain is returning to theaters to honour the iconic singer and actor.
The movie Purple Rain marked Prince’s film debut. The rock musical drama revolves around his musical talent. In the movie, he plays The Kid a troubled but talented front-man of a band, who spends his time at First Avenue nightclub to escape his difficult life at home.
So, AMC is teaming up with Warner Bros. to screen the classic in 87 AMC theaters starting today, Saturday, April 23 to Thursday, April 27.
Carmike Theaters, which is merging with AMC, is also airing the film in 80 theaters.
The movie won an Oscar for Best Original Song Score in 1985, and made $80,000,000 worldwide.
