Primate Ayodele’s Prophecy Fulfilled As Gunmen Assassinate Two Monarchs In Ekiti

Primate Ayodele’s prophecy has been fulfilled as gunmen assassinate two monarchs in Ekiti.

Glamtush reports that traditional rulers across Nigeria were thrown into mourning yesterday following the gruesome killing of two monarchs in Ekiti state by suspected kidnappers.

The monarchs were said to be returning from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti when they were accosted and gunned down.

The traditional rulers were identified as Oba David Ogunsakin, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti; and Oba Olatunde Olusola, the Onimojo of Omojola-Ekiti.

Sunday Abutu, police public relations officer in Ekiti, confirmed the killing but said details about the incident were still sketchy.

It was an unfortunate incident that may have been avoided if rapt attention was paid to the warning of Primate Ayodele to monarchs in Yoruba land some months ago.

In a video interview, Primate Ayodele was heard warning monarchs in Yorubaland against attacks by kidnappers. He made it known that the traditional rulers need to rise up to a very big challenge because if they don’t, there will be an assassination of traditional rulers in the land.

These were his words, “Let all Obas in Yoruba land rise up to a very big challenge. If they don’t rise up to this challenge, we should pray not to see the assassination of an Oba or kidnapping of an Oba. The monarchs should do something urgent to prevent insecurity.”

According to reports, the killers were kidnappers who attempted to abduct the deceased traditional rulers. Micheal Ogungbemi, chairman of Ajoni local council development area, was quoted as saying the gunmen attempted to abduct the three traditional rulers but Oba Adebayo Fatoba, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, survived the ambush.

This also reflects the prophecy of Primate Ayodele concerning 2024. The prophet had revealed in December that kidnapping will take a new dimension in 2024 while warning security agencies to be on alert. Just as he has said it, kidnapping has continued to be the order of the day since 2024 began.
