Police Arrest Three Telecom Mast Vandals In Akwa Ibom

 

 

 

Three members of a syndicate who specialized in vandalizing telecommunication masts in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of  Akwa Ibom State and its environs have been arrested.

They were arrested by the joint security task force stationed along Ikot Abasi/Port Harcourt Expressway on Thursday, October 29.

The gang was apprehended at Ikot Okot, a village along Ikot Abasi/Oruk Anam road after they knocked down a woman on top of a motorcycle while trying to escape to Port Harcourt.

According to reports, the suspects allegedly vandalized the Airtel mast at Ikpetim village in Ikot Abasi and killed someone in the process earlier this year.

Reports also have it that the same syndicate had allegedly vandalized another mast at Ikot Okpotinua, in Ikot Abasi a few days ago.

Meanwhile, the syndicate met their waterloo on Thursday, October 29 as they attempted to steal some gadgets along Ete/Oruk Anam Road again .
