Police have arrested a father for posting his 4-year-old daughter’s naked photos on social media.
Glamtush reports that the Edo State Police Command has arrested Musa Suleman, the Nigerian father who shared nude images his 4-year-old daughter on social media.
The father posted the naked pictures of his daughter on Instagram while calling on Nigerians to attend her birthday.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, PPRO, confirmed the arrest of the father in a statement.
He said the content portrays the young child in inappropriate poses, similar to adult contents, noting that everything would be done to ensure justice is served.
The statement read, “Nigeria Police Force acknowledges the public outcry in response to disturbing images and videos involving a 4-year-old child with the Instagram handle @officialsarah_ig, circulating on social media.
“Prima facie investigations indicate the involvement of the child’s father, who has been apprehended by the Police at the Auchi Divisional Police Headquarters, Edo State Police Command.
“Every necessary measure is being implemented to ensure that justice is swiftly served. As the investigation unfolds, it is imperative to establish proactive measures to guide and counsel parents, preventing the proliferation of such anomalies in our society.
“In light of the above, the Force emphasizes the importance of implementing support systems for parents and guardians to protect the safety and well-being of their children. It is crucial for caregivers to also prioritize the security of minors and seek assistance or guidance when required.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding children and upholding the law.”
Recall that the images had gone viral as Nigerians called for the Instagram page to be taken down with NAPTIP promising to take the matter up.
The Edo State Police Command press statement also reads, “The Edo State Police Command is aware of the trending video of a child of about 4 years old conspicuously naked and used as an adult content in an undisclosed hotel in Auchi, Edo State.
The Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP Funsho Adegboye, mni immediately drafted tactical team to go all out and arrest the suspect and his cohort. Within 12 hours, the father of the girl was arrested, investigation has commenced further revelation will be made known to the public.
The CP therefore appeal to the good citizens of Nigeria to remain calm that justice will be serve.”
