Glamtush reports that renowned Nigerian music icon Onyeka Onwenu, fondly known as the “Elegant Stallion,” has been laid to rest in Lagos.
Onwenu’s funeral service was held at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju area of Lagos, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
The atmosphere was filled with deep emotion as mourners reminisced about Onwenu’s contributions to the entertainment industry and her impact on Nigerian culture.
Onwenu was a singer, songwriter, actor, journalist, activist and politician.
Recall that the Onwenu collapsed at an event after performing at the 80th birthday of the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Stella Okoli on July 30. She was rushed to Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, where she was pronounced dead.
