Man City has named an academy road after Kevin De Bruyne.
Glamtush reports that Manchester City has honoured Kevin De Bruyne with a custom mosaic and the renaming of a road at the City Football Academy.
The tribute comes ahead of what will be his final appearance at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
This ends a 10-year journey with the English side.
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak today unveiled the tribute — a striking mosaic capturing one of De Bruyne’s most iconic celebrations, from the electric 6-3 win over Leicester City in 2021.
A Tuesday statement on the club website disclosed this.
“Created by local artist and City fan Mark Kennedy, the piece now stands by a training pitch at the CFA, joining a prestigious gallery of club greats including Joe Hart, Yahya Toure, David Silva, Vincent Kompany, and Sergio Agüero.”
De Bruyne’s Etihad Farewell
In a further tribute, the road connecting the Academy to the first-team training centre has officially been renamed Kevin De Bruyne Crescent, symbolically linking the club’s future with the legacy of one of its most influential players.
The night promises to be one of bittersweet reflection for City fans, as they prepare to say goodbye to a player who has defined an era.
Since his arrival in 2015, De Bruyne has played 420 games, scored 108 goals, and helped secure 19 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, a UEFA Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, and three Community Shields.
Speaking ahead of his final appearance at the Etihad Stadium against Bournemouth this evening, De Bruyne reflected on his 10-year journey in sky blue.
“I am proud of what we have done,” he said, reflecting on his remarkable decade in Manchester.
“When you come here, you know that City has a chance of winning trophies. You don’t really think about how much you can win.
“You hope to win, and then you hope to win again. After, you can see all of the trophies that you have won, and you reflect on that. It has been amazing.”
“As he takes to the Etihad pitch one last time, one thing is clear: he hasn’t just played the game — he’s elevated it,” the club’s statement noted.
