Photos: Laycon Becomes Sickle Cell Global Ambassador, Receives Awards From Sickle Cell Foundation

Winner of Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) Season 5,  the Lockdown edition, Laycon, was recently made a sickle cell ambassador in Nigeria.

He was presented with the awards for ‘Ambassador Extraordinary’ and ‘Sickle Cell Global Advocate’ by the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN).

Recall that the reality show star became a poster boy for people with sickle cell after he revealed his genotype during the reality show.

After receiving the awards, Laycon wrote, “I’m very pleased to receive the awards for ‘Ambassador Extraordinary’ and ‘Sickle Cell Global Advocate’ presented by the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN).

Your concern and dedication towards the proper care and control of sickle cell disorder in Nigeria is highly commendable.

I plan to use my God-given platform to create more awareness about Sickle Cell Disorder in Nigeria and beyond.
