Paint-A-Thon: Nigerian Artist Lola Odumewu To Set New Painting World Record

Nigerian artist Lola Odumewu is ready to set a new painting world record with her just concluded paint-a-thon.

Glamtush reports that Nigerian artist, Lola Odumewu has ended her painting marathon after 82 hours, as she aims to break the Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon.

This online platform understands that Odumewu commenced painting at 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 28, and ended her marathon at 4:30 am on Wednesday, November 1, after painting for 82 hours and some minutes instead of the earlier planned 72 hours.

Lola aims to break the record currently held by Ronald Palmaerts in France, who painted for 60 hours in 2013.

If successful, Odumewu will become the fourth Guinness World Record holder from Nigeria this year following the amazing feats set by 17- year-old pupil, Philip Solomon, celebrity chef, Hilda Baci and Tonye Solomon for climbing a mast with a ball on his head this year.

In May 2023, Solomon, a student of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure, Ondo State, was declared the Guinness World Record holder for the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds. The boy achieved this feat back in January 2023, after recording 153 skips on one foot in 30 seconds to outdo former record holder Rasel Islam, of Bangladesh whose record was 145.

Baci was declared the world record holder for the longest cooking marathon by Guinness in June 2023 with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.

The chef cooked from May 11 to 15, creating over 100 pots of food during the challenge.

Nigerian Tonye Solomon set the Guinness World Record for climbing a mast with a ball on his head. He climbed 150 steps to the top of a radio mast measuring 250 feet (76 metres) in height while balancing a football on his head.
