According to the official Formula 1 website on Monday, Piastri clinched his third consecutive Formula 1 victory at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, extending his lead in the World Championship standings.
The 24-year-old Australian delivered a masterful performance, overtaking pole-sitter Max Verstappen on lap 14 and maintaining his lead to the finish line.
Piastri’s victory marks his fourth win of the season and positions him as a strong contender for the championship title.
He now leads the standings by 16 points over teammate Lando Norris, who secured second place, completing a dominant McLaren one-two finish, The Guardian and ESPN also reported.

The race began with Verstappen leading from pole position, but an early lock-up at Turn One allowed Piastri to close the gap.
Demonstrating composure and precision, Piastri executed a decisive overtake on Verstappen, who eventually finished fourth after being overtaken by George Russell during a Virtual Safety Car period.
Piastri’s triumph in Miami also signifies McLaren’s first hat trick of victories in over 25 years, highlighting the team’s resurgence in the sport.
The Miami Grand Prix attracted a record crowd, with 275,000 spectators attending the event over the weekend.
As the Formula 1 season progresses, Piastri’s consistent performances and McLaren’s strategic prowess position them as formidable contenders in the championship race, the website stated.
