Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Lagos Chapter recently inaugurated its newly elected state executives at Ojez Restaurant in Lagos.
Speaking during his hand over ceremony, immediate past chairman, Victor Osuagwu, charged the new chairman, Don Pedro Aganbi, to pay attention to artist welfare and ensure he takes AGN Lagos to greater heights. In his response the newly elected chairman, Don Pedro Aganbi, promised to build on the innovative welfare and insurance scheme for the benefit of members and also promised to put in place a formidable task force to flush out quack producers and directors from Lagos state. “Today we are moving forward because of you. We are moving forward because you have reaffirmed the spirit that has prevailed over division, the spirit that has lifted AGN Lagos from the depths of miasma to the great heights of hope, progress and unity” Aganbi said.
He added, I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices. Its been a long time coming, but today because of what we did on the day of election, at that defining moment, we have picked ourselves up.and going forward we can be stronger together, ” he stressed.
The inauguration ceremony had in attendance notable Nollywood ICONS like Adebayo Salami, Popularly called Oga Bello, Patience Ozokwo (Mama G), former president of Association of Movie producers, Paul Obazele, Chidi Nwakobia, Ejiro Okurame, Mary Ogbonna (Biliki) Actors Guild of Nigeria founding Chairman, Prince Dr. Ifeanyi Dike among others.
The ceremony was also spiced up with music and comedy.
