Nurses season 4 returns to Telemundo in August after it was suddenly taken off air in June when the homophobic laws were passed in Uganda.
Recall that Nurses Season 4 was replaced with a re-run of Decisions without any explanation from the channel or NBC Universal.
Telemundo’s DStv broadcast feed is the same throughout Africa, meaning laws that apply in one country impact on another as everyone sees the same series.
At the time Telemundo told TVSA, “We intend to comply with local broadcast regulations in each market where we broadcast and are adjusting the programming as necessary.”
However, two months later, it returns with a rebroadcast from Episode 1 of Season 4 leading into new episodes.
It starts again on Tuesday, August 8, with a repeat of previously aired episodes, while new episodes begin on Monday, September 11.
However, it isn’t clear how NBCUniversal has adjusted the Telemundo programming. But they released a short statement after TVSA asked for clarity on how they solved the problem.
This is their statement in response to their query:
We apologise for the recent schedule disruption and are pleased to confirm that Nurses Season 4 will start from the beginning on Telemundo (channel 118) from 8 August. Catch brand-new episodes in September with more new series premiering in October; stay tuned for details! In the meantime, stream the latest seasons of all your other favourite Telemundo series on Universal+.
The question now is, “Have they edited out the scenes between characters Álvaro and Felipe?” Well, the only way to determine the answer is to watch again once it restarts.
We’ve scrutinized the difference between the old teasers and the new ones and have found one change in August, on Friday, August 18, and one change in September, precisely on Saturday, Sept 23.
