This online platform gathered that the movie star died on the morning of today, Thursday, May 12.
According to reports, the late actor had been battling diabetes and other sicknesses. Some colleagues and friends had tried to raise funds for him in 2021.
Richards’ first appearance as an actor was to represent Nigeria with Hubert Ogunde at the Second World Black and African Festival of African Culture (FESTAC) in 1977.
During his lifetime, Gbenga featured in blockbuster movies such as Sango, Mirror in the sun, and Betrayal of Love, to name a few. May his soul rest in peace.
