Nigerian Woman Charged To Court For Murdering 4-Year-Old Son In UK
A Nigerian woman has been charged with murdering her four-year-old son in the UK, a court has heard.
Oluwakemi Badare, 36, is accused of killing Kingswealth Bayode at her home in Plumstead, south-east London by allegedly drowning him in a bath.
The child was reportedly discovered “lifeless” on Sunday, December 27.
Badare, who is being held at Bronzefield Prison was represented by a lawyer for the 10-minute administrative hearing at the Old Bailey last week.
The court was told that emergency services were called to the address in Invermore Place on Sunday shortly before 8 am, where the boy was found dead, Igbere TV reports. Badare was arrested at the scene and taken into custody before being charged.
She subsequently appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
A post mortem was later carried out on the corpse of the boy a few days ago.
Judge Anthony Leonard QC listed the case for a plea hearing on March 17.
