1. Bandits on Friday abducted dozens of worshippers from a Jumuat Mosque in Zugu community of Gummi local government area in Zamfara State. Residents said the armed men hid their guns inside their clothes and stormed the mosque when the Imam was about to start delivering his sermon.
2. Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has said insecurity deteriorated under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). In an interview yesterday, Makarfi said when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in power, insecurity was only in the North East and yet the country held an election because of measures taken by the government in power then.
3. The Peoples Democratic Party, Osun State chapter has suspended a governorship candidate of the party, Dotun Babayemi. The Ward Executive members of Otun Balogun 2 made the pronouncement during a press briefing at the state party secretariat in Osogbo on Friday.
4. The Federal Government has increased the Duty Tour Allowances of ministers, permanent secretaries and other civil servants in the federal public service with effect from September 1, 2022. 5. The Ogun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, Prof. David Bamgbose has died, six days after he announced himself the party’s candidate. Bamgbose reportedly died at the Sacred Heart hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, after a brief illness, Friday morning.
6. A 40-year-old woman, Mrs Joy Sunday, arrested by the police for conspiracy over the kidnap of her husband in Akwa Ibom State, said on Friday that she partook in the act because her husband starved her of sex and money for too long.
7. Six people were killed on Thursday by suspected Fulani herders in a fresh attack in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The attack, according to a local who simply identified himself as Terna, occurred at Umella village in Mbawa ward of the local government around 3pm.
8. The Lagos State Police Command on Friday arraigned music artiste, Panshak Zamani, aka Ice Prince, for assaulting and abducting a policeman in the Lekki area of the state. The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a tweet, said the artiste was driving to a destination in the state when the police patrol team in the area stopped him at about 3am for driving without licence plates.

10. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has accused the All Progressives Congress of sponsoring mischievous posts on social media. Special Adviser to the National Chairman on Media and Communications, Simon Imobo-Tswam, said this in a statement he signed on behalf of his principal, in Abuja, on Friday.
