1. Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the release of the 21 children abducted by bandits on Sunday while working on a farm in Mairuwa community, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State. SP Gambo Isah, the spokesman for Katsina State Police Command, disclosed this in a brief statement on Saturday night.

2. The Federal Government has said that the flood that submerged parts of Nigeria has doubled the number of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, nationwide. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq disclosed this on Friday at an event commemorating National IDPs Day in Abuja.

3. The Lagos State Police Command yesterday confirmed that the autopsy conducted on the corpse of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, showed that the three-years-old child died due to drowning. The development was disclosed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Saturday.

4. There was disquiet in the hometown of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Iperu-Remoland, following the death of two persons over boundary dispute. The lingering boundary dispute was between Ogere, a neighbouring community, and Abiodun’s hometown in Ikenne Local Government Area. Violence broke out on Thursday when youths from Iperu and Ogere towns engaged themselves in a fight.

5. Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday protested in Aba, Abia State over the non-release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government.
Reports said that the protesters, including women and numbering over 500, vowed not to allow the 2023 election hold in the Southeast if their leader was not released and Biafra granted them.

6. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya has said that the Nigerian Army authorities are reviewing their contingency plans for the successful conduct of the next year general elections. Yahaya disclosed this in Maiduguri, Borno State at weekend during his visit to military troops in the frontline of the counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operation, Operation Hadin Kai Northeast.

7. Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kashim Shittima has said their administration will fight poverty, unemployment and ensure there is peace in Nigeria if elected into office in 2023. He disclosed this on Saturday during the coronation and presentation of 1st Class Staff of office to His Royal Highness, Da. John Putmang Hirse, the Mishkaham Mwaghavul, held in Plateau State.

8. Unknown gunmen, yesterday, attacked Tompolo’s Pipeline Surveillance boat, Tantita, assigned to Tuomo Unit and headed by the traditional prime minister of Tuomo Kingdom in Delta State, High Chief Mike Loyibo, and made away with its 200 horse power engine.

9. Two persons have been reportedly killed in an ambush by suspected armed herdsmen in Zongo Akiki community in the North Bank area of Makurdi town, Benue State. It was gathered that the victims ran into the ambush in their community Saturday morning while on their way to the farm.

10. The Adamawa State Government, yesterday, revealed that 51 residents died in the recent flood disaster in the State. The State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), which made the disclosure on Saturday when the North East Development Commission (NEDC) visited to donate relief materials, noted that more corpses were recovered as the flood receded in some submerged communities.
