1. The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, ATCON, the umbrella body for all the telecoms companies in Nigeria, including MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile, Glo and other operators, yesterday assured Nigerians that the deployment of the Biometric Voter Accreditation System and electronic transmission of results of the 2023 election are possible with the quality of telecoms architecture available in the country.

2. Many participants trooped out on Saturday for the South-South rally of the All Progressives Congress Women Campaign team in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. 5. A yet-to-be-identified man has reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the flyover near the NNPC filling station on the Sanni Abacha Expressway in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. It was gathered that passersby found the victim’s corpse dangling on the rail of the flyover on Sunday.

6. The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has been set ablaze by hoodlums. INEC Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, confirmed this in a tweet.

7. Three persons died on Sunday in a road crash that happened after Fidiwo bridge, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said six male adults and three female adults also sustained injuries in the incident.

8. The Federal Government through the Ministry of Transportation has announced an extension of the resumption date for the Abuja-Kaduna rail services. The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday on an inspection tour to assess the state of readiness of the Abuja-Kaduna rail services before the commencement of operations.
