New! An Unusual Tale Premieres On StarLife July 30
StarLife debuts a new series titled, An Unusual Tale (Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye) on Friday, July 30 at 18h00.
The series will be replacing Family Secrets which ends the day before, Thursday, July 29.
An Unusual Tale is about a corrupt politician who has an affair. Thankfully we don’t have to put up with the cheater on An Unusual Tale for long because his wife doesn’t.
She wisens up, creates a life for herself and discovers who she is without his abusive perspective impacting on her.
The story centres round Shobha, a housewife with two children, married to politician Samarth. She finds out about his affair in a most brutal way – with everyone else via a news broadcast that erupts in a nationwide scandal.
She freaks out and crashes, but doesn’t burn. She takes up a job instead and becomes friends with her boss Vikram Ahuja, a soul mate-type who encourages her to find out who she really is.
It’s produced by prolific soapie producer Ekta Kapoor (Twist of Fate, This is Fate, Jodha & Akbar, Naagin) and stars film actress Sonali Bendre as Shobha (in her first TV role) and Apurva Agnihotri (Bepannah) as Vikram.
An Unusual Tale is named after a song from the 1960 Bollywood movie Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai which achieved hit status on the charts when the film was first released.

Episode 1
The police freeze Shobha’s bank accounts but she is determined to see Sanjay and Garima’s engagement happen despite all odds. Shobha is amazed that Samarth’s mother Sharada continues to support her son. She also worries about the family’s finances.
Episode 2
Shobha decides to find a job to help her family. She lands up at Vikram’s office, who has recently fired his secretary in a fit of anger. Vikram’s assistant asks Shobha if she wil be their replacement. Will she accept the job offer?
