Ndidi Wilfred Dedicates Leicester City’s FA Cup Victory To Daughter
Leicester City midfielder, Ndidi Wilfred has dedicated his team’s FA Cup victory to his daughter who clocked one on Friday.
The Foxes defeated Chelsea 1-0 at London’s Wembley Stadium following Youri Tielemans’ wonder goal.
An 89th-minute equalizer from Chelsea was nullified by VAR after Ben Chilwell was deemed offside by the smallest of margins in the build-up.
In a post on social media after the match, Ndidi dedicated the victory to his daughter and expressed joy at seeing fans return.
He wrote, “Perfect birthday gift for my daughter. What a feeling having to see the fans again. Thank you everyone.”
The win was Leicester’s first in its 137-year history and their second major title after a sensational Premier League success in 2016.
Ndidi played all 90 minutes while his Nigerian compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho who has been in sensational form was taken out in the 67th minute for James Maddison.
Leicester City has lost four FA Cup finals in the past, the last came 52 years ago in 1969.
