Modern Interior Design Trends For 2019

Remember how 2018 was all about the combination of green and gold, brass, black matched with white and oversized furniture? Well, 2019 won’t stand out too much from the previously mentioned trends, but it’ll still have a trademark of its own. With dark kitchens, Night Watch green and the Pantone’s colour of the year – Living Coral – the year before us will certainly make your interior liven up!

Night Watch green

Avocado green matched with gold accents marked 2018, and this year the green hues continue to rule the world of interior design. With a slight shift in tones, Night Watch green brings in a certain dose of sophistication and style into your home, so make sure you fill at least one of your rooms with this mesmerizing shade. The moodier alternative to avocado green will create the perfect balance with highly popular matte blacks, as the Night Watch green looks staggering with high-shine finishes and elements. A marble floor would look amazing with a deep green rug thrown over it, so if you don’t want to bring in too much of deep green into your interior, a small touch of this hue will be just enough to make a statement.

Art gallery walls

To make the best out of your interior design, you can incorporate a variety of art deco elements into your space. Hanging a bunch of pictures on the walls in order to create a gallery of art is one of the best ways to express your creativity. Not only will the collection of your family photos, or maybe yours or someone else’s art up on the wall reflect your artistic sense, but it’ll also make a great addition to the rest of the décor. Boost up your room’s overall design with some original artwork, signs, or paintings, and create a nice eclectic appearance.

Dark kitchens

The demand for darker kitchens has significantly increased in the past few months, which implies that 2019 will be the year of black and navy blue cooking areas. Matte and powdery finishes will add a dose of luxury to the cabinets and counters, while also keeping them classic and chic even for modern spaces. Forget about grey and silver tones, because black and navy blue are all you’re going to see. From cabinetry, through kitchen appliances and to backsplashes, everything will be dark. Feel free to look for a stove, freezer, microwave and other kitchen appliances in dark hues to match your kitchen’s design. If you’re going to invest in a new freezer, don’t forget to take a look at a handy freezer buying guide, so you know exactly what to look for when you decide to make a purchase. Navy blue kitchens in combination with navy blue kitchen appliances and white walls is all you should aim for in 2019.

Concrete is back

Bathrooms are going to be all about concrete this year, as functionality becomes an ever-present factor in wet room designs. Not only will it give your bathroom more space to work around and decorate it with so many possibilities, but it’ll also give the space an industrial feel we all find attractive at some point. The concrete kitchen island is also going to be one of the biggest trends in 2019.

Statement ceilings

We’ve always looked at floors as the ultimate surface to make a statement with after we’re done with wall décor. However, this year, ceiling gets the centre stage, as you can easily freshen up the entire interior by placing wallpapers, moulding, or lacquer on the ceiling. Make the room brighter or even visually enlarged by a simple reimagined ceiling.

Brass is here to stay

If you’ve thought we were done with brass, think again. Brass taps are one of the trends you’ll still be seeing in 2019. Just think how chic a brass tap would look in your dark 2019 kitchen, along with white walls and brass lighting fixtures – pretty trendy? If you decide to bring in some marble elements in your kitchen or bathroom, a brass tap will certainly make a statement. They’ll also add warmth to otherwise colder tones, such as black and white, so feel free to choose them as your go-to option.

Crystal lux

Windows, doors, rear extensions and room dividers – everything is going to scream crystal. It will be the perfect contrast to darker hues, as this edgy and versatile material will make the entire interior look fabulous. By giving it a modern cool edge, the crystal-style can easily transform your plain space into a luminous lively ambient. If you want to add a partition to your room, you can easily divide the space without making it look too cramped, by simply adding crystal dividers or crystal-style doors.

Look out everyone, because 2019 has some amazing trends up its sleeve. You’ll create an absolutely astonishing ambient in your very own home if you pick only one and let alone all of the trends of 2019. Therefore, if you’re thinking about sprucing up your living space, go for the newest trends and create the most beautiful home of all.
