Meal Preparation Tips For Busy People

When it comes to healthy eating, there’s one strategy that works time and again which is planning ahead. This is because the time you probably may throw your healthy eating goals out the window is when you are busy. This said you do not have to spend hours preparing your meals.

These tips shared by Jumia Food, Nigeria’s no 1 food ordering platform will help you quicken your food preparation process.

Buy, wash and chop

While this tip may appear time-consuming, washing and chopping necessary groceries after purchasing it, in the long run, saves time because you only have to go through this process once. Doing this will make meals like soups, and salads take a fraction of your time to make.

Clean as you go

Clean dishes and wipe down counters so you won’t have to spend time doing it after dinner. You will also have an easier time getting things cleaned if the mess is still fresh.

Master your microwave

Almost everyone has a microwave, but most of us only use it to warm leftovers. A microwave can be your best friend if you’re trying to eat healthily and spend less time in the kitchen. You can make tons of healthy foods in the microwave, including oatmeal, eggs, fish, and sweet potatoes.

Save new recipes for weekends

When you stick with your tried-and-true recipes during the week, you won’t be rushing to get ingredients together or hovering over the recipe card to make sure you did everything just right. Experiment with new recipes when you’re less pressed for time, like during the weekends.

Freeze leftover ingredients

If you have any leftover food, package all of them and free them. Once frozen, store them in freezer bags for quick and easy use in future recipes.
