MC Oluomo has been elected as the NURTW National President.
Glamtush reports that the Southwest Zone of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has elected Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as the union’s National President
This online news platform understands that the election took place at the union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference, held at the Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, with delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participating.
The conference was monitored by the acting National President of the union, Aliyu Issa-Ore, who noted that according to the union’s constitution, the Southwest Zone was due to produce the next president.
Issa-Ore, represented by Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance from the National Headquarters in Abuja, confirmed that the Southwest Zone had adhered to the constitutional process in electing MC Oluomo.
In addition to Oluomo, the delegates also elected Tajudeen Agbede as the Vice President for the Southwest Zone and Akeem Adeosun as a trustee.
After taking the oath of office, Oluomo called for unity and peace within the union, emphasizing his commitment to its solidarity. “I have forgiven everyone who has offended me, and I hope those I have offended can forgive me as well. This is our union, and we must all work to preserve it. We will not allow anyone to destroy our livelihood,” he stated.
