General excitement has enveloped Lagos markets where the Vice President, Professor Yemi  Osinbajo and Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, launched the Trader Moni Scheme to the delight of the traders.

The Trader Moni Scheme which according to the government is part of a Social Investment Programmes (SIPs) and micro-credit scheme of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is designed to assist the bottom of the pyramid petty traders.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo had also thrown more light on the scheme, through a radio talk show, that the scheme is not meant to stress the traders in any way, but instead to ease their stress.

As such, the traders would not be bothered by paper work. Officials of the scheme are just supposed to go into the market, and capture the photos of the traders and their stall and then afterwards send them bank alerts.

This information indeed fueled the enthusiasm of the traders and they were even more excited when the Trader Moni officials started visiting them almost immediately.

In another related development, the President General of the Buhari Osinbajo Hope Movement, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade, commended the Office of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, for coming up with such an endearing poverty alleviation money scheme to assist the market traders grow. Seyi Bamigbade said that it is only a sensitive government, that understands the needs of the people, that can come up with such a scheme.

The President General of The Buhari Osinbajo Hope Movement, Mr. Seyi Bamigbade who spoke to the journalists when he visited the Presidential Support Committee (PSC) Buhari / Osinbajo 2019 campaign office in Lagos, equally commended the Lagos State Governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for seizing a timely moment to support and assist the Federal government to enable the Trader Moni Scheme initiative, reach the traders in the heart of Lagos markets.

“We are indeed pleased by the collective efforts of the President and Vice President to assist the masses and these traders in particular. And the fact that the Vice President and the Lagos Governor were accompanied by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Governorship Candidate, BabajideSanwo-Olu during the visits to the Lagos markets, confirms that the All Progressive Congress party is in support of this Trader Moni Scheme and it will certainly circulate to all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria as the Federal Government has said it will do.

This government is particular about market women. This government is particular about people,” Seyi Bamigbade added.
