Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Defiling Two-Year-Old Girl
An Ogun State High Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta has sentenced a 35-year old man, Adekunle Olalere to life imprisonment for defiling a two-year-old girl.
Olalere was convicted on Tuesday, for defiling the innocent girl and will have to spend the rest of his life in custody for the dastardly act.
The convict, Olalere, however, pleaded not guilty of the charge.
But the judge, Justice Abiodun Akinyemi, while delivering his judgment, said the defendant was guilty of the charge against him sequel to the evidence tendered to the Court by the prosecutor. On that note, Justice Akinyemi sentenced him to life imprisonment.
According to the Assistant Chief State Counsel, Mrs. Oluyemisi Arulebe, the convict committed the offence on March 22, 2017, in his residence, No.18 Bashorun Street, Off Unity Road, Olowotedo Area of Mowe, Ogun State.
According to the prosecutor, the convict forcefully had intercourse with the two-year-old girl. She said the victim’s mother was a salesgirl to Mr. Olalere.
On that fateful day, the victim’s mother saw her two-year-old girl rolling on the floor in severe pain with a swollen vagina. She was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital before confirming there was a trace of sperm cell in her vagina thereby confirming she was raped by the convict.
Mrs. Arulebe said that the convict breached Section 32 of the Child Right Law of Ogun State 2006.
