Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan were today sworn-in as members of the board of Lagos State Council For Arts And Culture.
According to the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, “We inaugurated the council for Arts and Culture, today. The ultimate goal is to harness the huge creative talents that abound in the State in the fields of Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Sports to drive tourism, create employment and increase the contribution of the non-oil sector to the State’s gross domestic product.”
He added, ” It is the responsibility of this distinguished Council to seek and explore private sector support to nurture new talents and generate events for a sustainable development of the creative arts sector in the State.”
Afolayan took to his IG to share the good news with his fans as he wrote:
Now it is official as myself, Mrs Joke Silva Jacob and other got sworn in today as members of the board of Lagos state council for arts and culture. Just as I was wondering why me amongst the well experienced older people, just HE whispered to my hears and say “is it just by age? I thank God for the grace.
I want to use this medium to thank the Executive governor of Lagos state Mr @akinwunmiambode and the entire executive members of lagos state and also to state that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Lagos state government.
Now let’s go and work!
