King Mitchy has apologised to the Ooni, Seyi Tinubu and VeryDarkMan for her recent online behaviour.
Glamtush reports that popular content creator and philanthropist, Mitchell Mukoro, widely known as King Mitchy, has issued a public apology over her recent online behaviour, including the consumption of a substance during a live video.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on Thursday, King Mitchy apologised directly to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Nigerians.
“Good morning Nigerians. I’m ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I’ve thought about my behaviour and I know that I was wrong and I want to be held accountable.
“For the substance I took on live video, that was very wrong of me because there are young girls that are looking up to be me one day and I know I disappointed a lot of people.
“That was wrong of me, I was wrong,” she said.
She added, “And my boss ST (Seyi Tinubu), I’m so sorry. I know I apologised privately but I did not disrespect you privately, I disrespected you publicly so I want to apologise publicly. I’m so sorry sir.
“I want you to know that I will never take your support for granted.”
To the Ooni of Ife, she said, “I’m so sorry, sir. I’m so sorry for bringing your name into this, I’m so sorry daddy,” while kneeling.
Addressing VeryDarkMan, whom she described as her “brother,” she said she now understood what he was advocating for.
“You’re fighting for Nigerians and we can make Nigeria a better place and I’m sorry for coming at you like that.
“Maybe now I understand you better because I had to step back and understand the kind of person that you are and I see that you’re fighting for a good cause for Nigeria to be better.
“And you need more supporters, not people to fight you. I’m sorry my brother. Thank you, Nigerians,” she added.
The apology follows weeks of online controversy that began in late February 2026 after King Mitchy announced that she renovated a dilapidated school in six days, suggesting that meaningful change could happen quickly when there was genuine intent.
However, she reportedly made comments widely interpreted as subtle jabs at VeryDarkMan, who in turn accused her of being used as a political pawn to launder the image of Tinubu’s administration.
She also shared what she described as a private social media chat with Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, claiming that “even this king” had reached out to her.
The claim sparked debate on social media and further intensified criticism of the influencer for allegedly disrespecting the monarch.
The controversy deepened after VeryDarkMan alleged that Seyi Tinubu was financing Mitchy’s philanthropic projects.
Mitchy later said the sustained harassment led to the loss of her business Instagram account.
The situation escalated during a live video session in which Mitchy, visibly distressed, appeared to consume a substance believed to be bleach while viewers expressed concern and attempted to dissuade her.
Her management later announced that she had died in a statement posted on her Instagram page.
The post claimed that she died at Prime Care Hospital in Abuja and that medical efforts to revive her had been unsuccessful. It also requested privacy for her family during their time of grief.
However, in a subsequent post on her Instagram page, her management reversed its earlier statement, saying she was alive and recovering.
