Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai Tests Positive For COVID-19

Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the governor, he submitted a sample for the test earlier in the week. When the result came in this evening, he tested positive.

He announced this via a video broadcast on his twitter page. Speaking on the development, El-Rufai revealed that he is currently in self-isolation and observing the required health measures to ensure a speedy recovery.

He said; “Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the COVID-19 test. The results came in this evening and I regret to say that it is positive. According to the protocols for managing COVID-19, I’m in self-isolation as required by guidelines set out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.”

“For someone that is showing no symptoms, I wish to appeal to the people of Kaduna state to continue to closely observe the preventive measures announced by our government.”

“It is most important that everyone should do their utmost to stay safe, stay home and stay alive. The Deputy Governor is in charge of our taskforce on COVID-19 and will continue to issue statements from time to time. Thank you very much.”
