Glamtush reports that singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has been released from prison, where he was earlier remanded pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
This online platform recalls that Portable who was accused of resisting arrest and injuring a police officer landed in police custody on Friday, March 31, and was subsequently arraigned in court on Monday.
A High Court in Ifo, Ogun State, however, granted the singer bail.
Portable was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 and to provide two sureties with landed properties within the court vicinity.
The court however ruled that the defendant be transferred to the Ilaro Correctional Centre, pending the time his bail requirements were met.
Portable’s counsel, Adodo Destiny, confirmed his release to The Punch correspondent.
“Yes, he’s home now. In fact, I am still in his house with my lawyers,” Adodo confirmed in a text sent to our correspondent.”
The case was adjourned till April 26 for the commencement of trial.
