Glamtush reports that Jigawa State Government has declared Friday a work-free day to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the creation of the state.
The spokesman for the office of the head of the civil service (HoS), Isma’il Ibrahim made this known in Dutse on Thursday.
According to a statement by the state government, the government urged residents of the state to pray for the state and Nigeria, NAN reports.
The statement said, “It is hoped and highly envisaged that all public servants and the entire people of the state will utilise the one-day break in thanking the Almighty Allah for conducive atmosphere, peaceful co-existence and pray for His intervention to salvage the nation from the lingering security challenges.”
Jigawa was created out of the old Kano state on August 27, 1991, by military dictator Ibrahim Babangida, with 27 local government areas.
