JUST IN: Former Nigerian Senator Biyi Durojaiye Is dead

Fourth Republic lawmaker, Senator Biyi Durojaiye is dead.

Glamtush reports that Biyi Durojaiye, immediate past Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has passed away.
Mr Durojaiye, 88, died on Monday in Lagos after a brief illness associated with coronavirus complications, a family member said.

Durojaiye was elected Ogun East Senator in 1999 on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform.

The deceased will be remembered for his struggle during the days of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO).

Born in 1933, Durojaiye was a legal practitioner and worked for 35 years in the public sector.

He was a Director in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as well as the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc.

Durojaiye’s wife, Helen Olufunso Adejoke, died on June 6, 2009.
