JAMB Pegs 140 As Cut-Off Mark For University Admission, 100 For Others

JAMB has approved 140 as the cut-off mark for university admission and 100 for others..

Glamtush reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set the cut-off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country at 140 and above.

This online newspaper understands that this was disclosed on Saturday by the Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and Awards held in Abuja.

Oloyede also noted that the bo ard had approved a score of 100 as the cut off-mark for polytechnics and colleges of education.

However, the JAMB Registrar said universities are at liberty to decide individual cut-off marks but no university will be allowed to admit any candidate who scores below the 140 benchmark.

Also at the policy meeting, the Federal Government charged JAMB to maintain the sanctity of its examination at all times.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, David Adejoh, said that a compromised examination system will impact negatively on the nation’s work force.
