American singer, songwriter and actress, Taylor Swift, is officially the queen of Instagram leading with a total of 50.4m followers.
To celebrate her 50 million followers, she wrote: “50 million followers!! Thanks so much guys. I’m pretty sure this is just because I have cute cats though.”
According to teen vogue, ever since Taylor Swift posted a photo of her standing next to a bouquet of flowers sent by Kanye West, her Instagram catapulted to the number one most followed account, surpassing the queen of media, Kim Kardashian
For a while, it was neck and neck between Taylor and Kim but Taylor Swift is now officially leading the pack. This week, Instagram announced its first-ever ranking of most popular accounts and Taylor Swift took the crown with her 50.4 million followers and still counting.
Joining Taylor in the top five spot are:
Kim Kardashian – 48.6m
Beyonce – 47.7m
Selena Gomez – 46.5m
Ariana Grande – 45.1m
