Is Primate Ayodele’s prophecy on Governor Ikpeazu’s defection to APC coming to pass?
Glamtush reports that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is in so much crisis at the moment that is definitely going to shape the chances of the party in the 2023 general elections.
As expected in a year preceding an election, cross-carpeting among political parties is expected to happen but this seems to be having a huge impact on the PDP than any other political party.
Some governors in the opposition party have shown their displeasure and have openly spoken against the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar. They include Governor Wike and Governor Samuel Ortom. There are about three others who are yet to speak openly but with their body language, they seem to have a grudge against the candidate.
However, it seems the opposition party is set to be hit by another tsunami with the recent activity of the governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu. He seems to be drifting towards the ruling party, APC.
Just yesterday, he was in a meeting with Governor Dave Umahi, Ben Ayade and Nyesom Wike in port-harcourt. It is no more news that Wike may work for the APC in the general election.
If this is anything to go by, it is important to take a look at the prophecy of Primate Elijah Ayodele which was published in 2021 concerning some governors that will quit the PDP and decamp to the ruling party.
In his statement, Primate Ayodele mentioned Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state. He revealed then that they are planning to decamp to the ruling party.
‘’The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammed Matawalle has made up his mind to leave the PDP. He is 99 percent out, If the party does not manage its situation well, the Governor of Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu will follow suit.’’ (https://dailypost.ng/2021/05/25/primate-ayodele-exposes-three-pdp-govs-allegedly-planning-to-decamp-to-apc/)
Some months after he said it, Matawalle fulfilled this prophecy by leaving the party. Governor Ikpeazu reinstated his commitment to the PDP but with what is happening now, it seems he is drifting already.
Will Primate Ayodele’s prophecy come to pass? Fingers crossed.
