INEC has declared PDP’s Evivie Ovuokporie winner in the Delta bye-election.
Glamtush reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Evivie Ovuokporie, as the winner of the Isoko South State constituency 1 in Delta State bye-election held on Saturday.
The election result was announced on Sunday morning by the returning Officer, Prof. Christopher Onosemuode, at the Constituency Collation Centre, Isoko South INEC LGA office.
The State House of Assembly seat became vacant following the death of Kenneth Ogba in June this year.
The bye-election to fill the vacant State House of Assembly seat was contested mainly by candidates of the PDP, Ovuokporie Evivie, who polled 6, 957 votes, Michael Emumena Paul, of SDP who had 1,291 votes and Dr Ogaga Ifowodo of APC who got 1,301 votes.
