IGP is to discipline Police Officer for smoking weed on duty.
Glamtush reports that the Nigeria Police Force has commenced necessary action to fish out an officer who allegedly engaged in the consumption of an illicit drug known as cannabis (weed) while on duty.
A viral photo on Friday, April 8, captured the officer holding weed in his right hand while sitting on a chair in the Ijora area of Lagos state.
Speaking in reaction to the photo, Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the policeman will face disciplinary action from the office of the Inspector-General of Police.
In a statement he released on Twitter, he said the Lagos State Command has been contacted to fish him out and commence necessary action.
”The police have commenced necessary action on this ugly scene. We have contacted Lagos Command to fish him out, name and shame him, and necessary disciplinary action will be taken from the office of the IGP with immediate effect.
”This is condemned in its totality as such is unpolice. It’s quite unfortunate that we can see an officer of the police, on uniform, degenerates to this level. We must kick again this to serve as a deterrent to others. Thanks. MUYIWA Adejobi,” he said.
