Tell us about yourself

I am Jumoke Azeez, the creative director of Zeez Designs.  I am a graduate of English from Lead City University,  Ibadan. I am a fashion enthusiasts known for being a well organized and detailed oriented lady.

What sparked your interest in fashion?

Good looks I would say. I love to look good and also admire good looks because it is a way to discover as well as have conversation with yourself and the world at the same time. What you wear is how you represent yourself to the world especially today,  when human contacts are so quick.

How long have you been in the business of fashion designing?

Zeez Designs started officially on March 5, 2014. So, this year makes it 10 years in business.

What is your favorite part about being a fashion designer?

My favourite part of being a fashion designer is what I call PCC. Which means PRACTICE, CREATIVITY and CONNECTION. The opportunity to work with creative minded people, also. When I receive new project or interact with a first-time client, I get to learn more about their industry business and audience. Designs fosters connection through these interactions and the different kind of clients we encounter each day and everyday.

What is your favourite part about being a designer?

What I like best about being a fashion designer is the element of freedom I have in my creations. While I have to follow industry trends and make sure my designs are commercially viable, I also have the opportunity to experiment and try new things.

What is your least favorite part about being a fashion designer?

I would say maintaining this thing called energy. That’s because, being creative requires energy. Presenting, negotiating  and collaborating all requires energy. Maintaining enthusiasm during mindless interactions needs energy.

What’s your greatest strength as a fashion designer?

For me, my greatest strength as a fashion designer include my creativity, communication skill, business sense, adaptability and flexibility.

What area of fashion does Zeez Designs specialize in?

At Zeez designs,we specialize in classic and contemporary wears.

What makes you fulfilled as a designer?

Some of the things which makes me fulfilled as a fashion designer is the fact that I help people gain their confidence through my creativity and designs.

What has Zeez Designs done to redefine the fashion experiences of customers in Ibadan and beyond?

The company has invested huge amounts into remodelling of its facilities, including a redesigned office space featuring a customer-centre reception and a chic showroom that reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence.

Leveraging cutting-edge technology, Zeez Designs has integrated modern fashion machines and equipment into its production processes, ensuring efficiency and sophistication in crafting bespoke designs for its discerning clientele.

The focus is on providing a comprehensive fashion solution for clients synonymous with luxury and class.

We have meticulously redesigned our space, incorporating state-of-the-art tailoring machinery and top-notch services to cater to the ever-evolving tastes of our clients. We promised a complete beauty outfit with a distinct purpose.

Also, in a move to meet the diverse fashion needs of our clients, Zeez has also unveiled complementary outlets offering quality bags, shoes, and jewelry from globally acclaimed companies.

Some fashion brands also run a training school. So, do you train students?

Yes, we have a training school called Zeez Designs Fashion School which has been running since 2014 as well. The school is renowned for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical fashion courses. The curriculum includes comprehensive business development and marketing programs. So far, the school has trained over 60 students who are doing great as well.

What challenges do you face as a business owner in Nigeria?

One of the challenges I am experiencing as a business owner in Nigeria is nothing but the epileptic power supply.  The absence of electricity slows down productivity except we result into using the alternative which is the generator. And using generator requires fueling. By so doing, you would be eating into what is meant to be your profit.

How would you define style as a fashion designer?

Style for me is expressive. I would describe it as an individual’s choice of dressing and presenting themselves through their choice of clothing, accessories, hair, and overall aesthetics.
