How To Rock Striking Puff Sleeve Trend

How To Rock Striking Puff Sleeve Trend

The puff sleeve trend is not exactly new, however, it is expected to be in the wardrobe of every fashionista this year.

The voluminous sleeve sometimes called Balloon sleeves is one of the trends that will be huge this year according to fashion experts and as was seen on major runway shows spanning New York, London, Milan and Paris in 2019. These dramatic statement sleeves were seen in full force on the catwalks in all shapes, sizes, fabrics, and colours.

Whether the swell is focused on your shoulder, or more gradual down your arm, this year, we can’t get enough of the puff sleeve. Even at the recently held Golden Globes Awards, fashion influencers took the puff sleeve to a whole new height rocking it in various eye-catching styles indicating that the billowy and whimsical shoulders are here to stay.

The puffed sleeve which has continued to enjoy some attention-grabbing iteration since late last year will know no bound this year as we will see even more puffed sleeves, from a slight pouf to exaggerated statements sleeve which are more structured, whimsical, delicate and flowing as well.

Whichever iteration of the puffed-sleeve trend you want, you will love the way it looks on you. The beauty of this sleeve is that it gives a very feminine form and it looks flattering on most women. It makes you look more proportional and thinner.

These days, you will notice puffy statement sleeves on a number of pieces from tops to daytime or cocktail dresses, jackets, and jumpsuits. Ladies are also donning outfits with puff sleeve made with lace, Ankara, sheer and other fabrics of their choice to various occasions.

However, this year the puff sleeve trend is all about making heads turn as designers are giving this sleeve style even more volume or even alter their shape for a more feminine, romantic, voluminous and super fun form.

You can pair a puffy-sleeved top with a pair of fitted pants, jeans or a skirt, or try a puffy-sleeved dress with flats, high heel or pair of minimal sandals depending on the event. You can also rock an evening gown or cocktail dress with exaggerated sleeves for a show-stopping look at that event.

From classic puff style with an updated twist to fresh tailoring, there are countless looks for everyone’s personal style. So, get ready to update your wardrobe with this sleeve trend and be the center of attention at your next event.
