Glamtush reports that Jigawa State Hisbah Corps has ordered the immediate closure of all beer parlours and prostitution spots during the month of Ramadan.
The state’s Hisbah commandant, Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this on Tuesday in an exclusive interview with the Daily Post.
He said the move is part of the corps’ efforts to stem social vices during Ramadan.
Dahiru explained that the Hisbah corps has conducted sensitization for commercial sex workers and alcohol sellers.
While the corps has not received any report of places where such vices are taking place, the Hisbah commandant, however, declared that operatives would embark on general patrol to arrest those who ignored the order.
