Guinness World Records has confirmed Hilda Baci’s largest serving of Nigerian jollof rice.
Glamtush reports that Guinness World Records (GWR) has announced that Nigerian chef and former record holder, Hilda Baci, has set a new record for the Largest Serving of Nigerian-Style Jollof Rice.
GWR confirmed Hilda’s latest culinary achievement in an Instagram post on Monday along with a video of the event.
The post read, Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice 8,780 kg (19356 lb 9 oz) by @hildabaci and @ginonaija.
“Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has made her way back into the record books after kick-starting record fever across Africa.
“Alongside brand Gino Nigeria, Hilda cooked up the largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice. Hilda says it took “nine hours of fire, passion and teamwork” and 1,200 kg of gas to create the 16,600 plates of rice “served with joy, love and community.”
Hilda accomplished this feat early hours of Saturday in collaboration with food brand Gino, where she successfully prepared 200 bags of Basmati rice with a giant pot in front of an excited crowd at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event attracted notable personalities, food enthusiasts and fans who came out to support and celebrate the historic achievement.
