The soothing and anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil are beneficial in treating sunburns. The GB ricinoleic acid in it will protect any sunburn-induced blisters. Plus, the omega-3 fatty acids in it help keep the skin hydrated as well as stimulate growth of healthy tissue.
Along with sunburn, castor oil is even effective at treating hyper-pigmentation, it also clears the skin of spots and marks. Castor oil also repairs and rejuvenates the skin from the damage of sun overexposure and when combined with coconut oil, the result is simply amazing
Coconut oil is healing oil and gently relieves skin from painful sunburn, peeling and cracking. It is an anti-inflammatory that slowly relieves any swelling that is usually experienced from the aftermath of sunburn.
While castor oil is heavy, coconut oil is lighter oil and almost immediately sinks into your skin, hence, getting to work on repairing any damage. The castor oil on the other hand, lingers on the surface of the skin and helps reduce pain caused by friction from clothing and everyday movements.
For sunburn relief, try this castor oil and coconut oil mixture.
Ingredients
Castor oil
Coconut Oil
Bowl
Method
Mix castor oil with coconut oil in 1:1 proportion in a bowl and gently massage your skin’s surface (the affected area) and you will soon feel the relief.
Apply regularly, especially after taking a shower. When applied to slightly damp skin, the oils trap the water as absorption takes place. Since coconut oil is easily absorbed, it goes straight into your skin’s layers with the water droplets. And the slightly heavier oil (castor oil) stays on the skin surface ensuring that moisture stays locked in.
Repeat a few times daily for a couple of weeks to get your desired result.
