Our great nation has been through a lot and has come of age. Despite the various issues that could have disintegrated us permanently, we have found a way to remain together despite the various barriers of religion, ethnicity, language etc. Yet the future looks great if only we can harness the great potentials of our population, unity in diversity which is lacking in many other countries of the world.
Coincidentally this week, a peace pact was signed by the political contenders in the forthcoming presidential election slated for next year. With this, we lend our voice to that of billions of others the world over who wish us a peaceful election process and handover to a new democratically elected government next year.
Election is not a do or die affair and no election is worth the blood of anyone talk more of that of the citizens partaking in the election so we implore all our politicians to have a very healthy competition as the election campaigns are declared open.
We wish Nigeria many more fruitful years, filled with equity, justice, peace, prosperity of the citizens and the nation, stability and above all, God’s blessings.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Long live the Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN)!
Signed,
Adrian Egonu.
