Governors’ Forum Chairman, Fayemi Calls For Sack Of Service Chiefs
The Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has called for a change in leadership of the top echelon of Nigeria’s security forces.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics with Seun Okinbaloye, Fayemi argued that the morale of those who should have been in the leadership positions in our security architecture are at the lowest ebb because our service chiefs are still holding sway.
Speaking further, Governor Fayemi said, though cautiously that our present service chiefs who happen to be the longest-serving service chiefs are clearly bereft of ideas and cannot bring much to the table again.
He also canvassed for a total overhaul of the nation’s security architecture and the present mode of fighting insurgency and terrorism war which is currently proving to be an onerous task for the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the country.
