Governor Akeredolu Returns After 3-Month Medical Leave

Governor Akeredolu has returned after 3-month medical leave.

Glamtush reports that following a three-month medical leave of absence in Germany, Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has returned to Nigeria.

This online platform understands that he arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday afternoon.

Glamtush recalls that the governor had departed Nigeria in June to seek medical care in Germany, temporarily withdrawing from the affairs of the state government. He handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to act in his stead.

The news of his return was confirmed on the X handle of his wife, Betty Akeredolu.

Mrs Akeredolu shared a picture of her husband in an airplane with the caption, “Homebound.”

According to reliable sources, Governor Akeredolu is expected to travel to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, from Abuja before proceeding to Ondo State.

Furthermore, an insider confirmed that a meeting will take place on Friday in Ibadan with cabinet members and other members of his political family.

The Ondo State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Mr Wole Ogunmolasuyi, confirmed Akeredolu’s arrival to our correspondent.

He said the governor was already in his Ibadan residence.

Ogunmolasuyi said, “We thank God the governor has arrived in the country. He landed in Abuja and moved straight to Ibadan.”
