Incumbent Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in today’s gubernatorial election.
Ajimobi, who lost the National Assembly election to return to the Senate two weeks ago, cast his vote at about 1.10 pm at Oluyole Community Grammar School, Oluyole, Ibadan.
Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, defeated his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival Adebayo Adelabu
Makinde polled 145 votes ahead of Adelabu who had 112 votes at Oluyole Community Grammar School, Ibadan, where the governor voted.
Ajimobi had campaigned vigorously for Adelabu even after losing his senatorial bid.
The election is a tight race between the PDP and APC candidate.
