Former Senate President Lawan’s mother has been laid to rest in Yobe.
Glamtush reports that the remains of 86-year-old Hajiya Halima Ibrahim, mother of the immediate past Senate President, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, have been laid to rest on Sunday in Gashu’a, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State.
This online newspaper gathered that the funeral prayer of the deceased, which attracted dozens of dignitaries from within and outside the state, was attended by the Governor of Borno State, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum; Yobe State Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana; and emirs, among others.
Through his Media Adviser, Ezrel Tabiowo, Senator Lawan appreciated the outpouring of love and support from friends, relatives, and colleagues.
“The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to all those who have reached out and offered their condolences, thoughts, and prayers during this time of immense sadness. Your love and support have been a source of strength, and they are forever,” Lawan said.
Glamtush recalls that the octogenarian died on Saturday, October 14, at her residence in Gashu’a town.
