Former Miss US, Cheslie Kryst, has allegedly jumped to her death at 30.
Glamtush reports that a former beauty queen, Cheslie Kryst, who represented the United States of America has died at 30.
Her family and the New York City Police Department have confirmed that the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, CNN reported.
According to the police, the 2019 Miss USA died after jumping from a building in Manhattan.
Kryst’s body was found at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, on the sidewalk outside the Orion Condominium building, where she was a resident, in Manhattan.
Statement from the family read, “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie,” the statement read. “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
Before her death, the former Miss USA winner shared a photo on her Instagram page with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.
Kryst was an attorney who received three degrees from two universities. Asides from practicing law, the North Carolina native was also an entertainment correspondent for Extra TV.
“Our hearts are broken. Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends,” Extra TV said in a statement.
The family asked for privacy at this time as they reflect on their loss. Kryst won the Miss USA beauty pageant in 2019 as a participant from North Carolina.
