Finally, INEC Reschedules General Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has moved the presidential and national assembly elections till February 23.
The governorship and state assembly elections will now hold on March 9.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the postponement of the 2019 presidential, governorship and national assembly election.
The Chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement after concluding its emergency meeting with stakeholders, including international and local observers.
New dates for Presidential and national assembly elections will now be Saturday 23rd February, 2019 while Governorship elections will now hold March 9th, 2019.
The electoral body is facing difficulty distributing sensitive electoral materials to some states of the federation, the INEC Chairman said.
