Suspenders are a fashion accessory for men that offer both function and style. They hold up pants, making them functional. They also complement a variety of looks, thus, making a fashion statement.

Suspenders provide more support than belts do. They are fairly easy to put on, but you need to make sure that they are adjusted securely enough to prevent them from slipping off your shoulders. When properly secured to hold your pants in place, suspenders creates a more flattering silhouette and is much more comfortable throughout the day since it’s not forcing your mid-section to be squeezed in order to hold your pants up.

Whether you choose to wear a Y or X style suspender, you should never wear a belt and suspenders together. Suspenders make a belt unnecessary, so wearing one would be an overkill. Additionally, wearing a belt with suspenders is also considered a fashion faux pas.
